The start times are the cornerstone of the versions: it is 10 for Quick OS. The collaboration with Acer Aspire One on the distrubution, seems to be the starting point for a new adventure. The new version of Linpus Linux Lite Moblin v2 is already available in the download on the official website (with a. iso 700 Mb) and officially unveiled at Computex 2009 in Taipei.

Let’s see some more details. The new open source version of Intel Moblin for netbook(Inspiron 1525 battery) has been released in version 2.0 beta and automatically taken as a result of agreements under management from Linux. In fact, Linpus Technologies has decided to enter by force in the market of netbooks with its latest distribution Linpus Lite, based on its engine Intel Moblin V2. Moblin is an operating system that already before the launch has many supporters, but many critics, The final aim is to create a new platform for developers but not the consumer at the point of allowing a full distribution of new applications for prototto .

Linpus on site, before Computex this was a special slogan : Linpus, the most popular Linux operating system space netbooks(Dell Inspiron 1501 battery), at Computex show some brand new open-source products for the consumer market : the OS update will be included Instant-on, and a first look at Moblin V2 Linpus Linux Lite Linpus interface is with Intel. In the specific details had reported that : “The source code for Moblin V2, and in particular the new UI, were released only recently and for this reason, the Linpus distribution will be the first on the market.”

The new version of Linpus Linux Lite will be able to boot in 15 seconds and the user experience will lead to a higher level, our live desktop will provide immediate access to your favorite sites and those visited IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad x61 tablet battery recently, communication tools, applications and multimedia content. The use of latest technology will allow users to benefit from a more vivid graphics, simulations and real-world physics. It will be much easier to remember and fun. Linpus integrate all the key functions of Moblin V2, including the user interface Intel. “A new solution offered by the manufacturer in Taiwan that already is doing many downloads for the beta, almost like Windows 7.

Choosing your first Web host is an important decision. You will, hopefully, have a long relationship with whatever host you choose. To make a decision, first you need to decide that what you need and then visit the sites of several hosting providers and evaluate what they are offering in regarding your requirements. If you choose wisely you should get good value for your money, consistency and prompt well-informed support. Get a Good Linux Web Host at OnSmart.net

Linux and its predecessor UNIX and Windows 2000 and its close relate Windows NT are types of operating systems that web servers use to do its operations.

In most of the cases Linux Web Hosting Account is recommended because Linux is considered as more reliable, stable and more universally compatible with any operating system. This is due to the functionality and speed of the Linux operating platform. Without any doubt, Linux is far more stable than Windows in a shared-server, or multi-user environment. Get a Good Linux Web Host at OnSmart.net (http://www.onsmart.net )

On the other hand, if you know that you will be using Microsoft applications extensively, or you plan on developing extensively using FrontPage, especially FrontPage 2002, MS SQL, ASP.NET or if you are looking for E-commerce add- ons or you will be using high-end databases then Windows/NT Hosting is the right choice for you. But if you are looking for universal compatibility regardless of the operating system the end user has, Linux has the ability to run a much wider variety of custom scripts and programs than Windows 2000/NT, and it offers easier, lower-cost set-up for advanced applications such as CGI scripts, databases.

Under Linux web hosting operating system, there is, database, server software and gathering of coding. Linux is the most preferred and demanded operating system because of its features and vigorous environment and it is the next best alternative to Microsoft and UNIX operating system. Linux is widely used and chosen worldwide due to its permanent network and server operating system. Linux operating system and APACHE web server, MYSQL database, PHP server coding applications are clustered under one roof that is Linux web hosting and for this, it is also known as LAMP server. The most reliable web hosting under web based applications is the Linux, and Apache is grabbing the market of Microsoft servers according to a survey over million of sites. Get a Good Linux Web Host at OnSmart.net

Advantages of Choosing Linux Based Web Host

Following are the advantages of using Linux based web server compared to Windows based web server:

1. Stable:

Linux/Unix operating systems has traditionally been believed to be very stable and robust. A web site housed on a Linux operating system will have very high up-time (of the order of 99.9%). Of course, other factors such as power supply, network admin skills, and network load etc. also matter when it comes to maintaining the system uptime.

2. Low cost of ownership:

The Linux OS comes free of cost (or at very insignificant cost, usually cost of distribution). Also, it has full fledged server, and desk top applications that comes free along with the OS. These server applications (such as FTP, Web Server, DNS Server, File Server etc.) being free, are also very stable.

3. Ease of use:

When it comes to web hosting, it is easy to host on Linux web servers. The process of uploading and hosting is almost same for both Linux and Windows web servers. If you want to use a Windows based tool such as Front Page for uploading a web site on to a Linux based web server, make sure that the Front Page extensions are enabled. This is only required if you are uploading using HTTP feature of Front Page. Front Page also makes it possible to upload a web site using FTP. Note that if you select “Front Page Extensions” during web site design, you must enable Front Page extensions on a Linux web server also.
You can use almost all types of file extensions or scripts when using Linux web server. Commonly, the following extensions are supported: .cgi, .html, .htm, .pl, .php, .shtml, .xml, and others. Basically it means that you can host web sites that use different types of server side scripts including .cgi, .pl, .php, and .asp with plug-in. Get a Good Linux Web Host at OnSmart.net

4. Easy to move between hosts:

A web site designed to be hosted on a Linux based web server can be hosted on a Windows web server easily, where as the reverse is not always true.

Most widely used: Linux/Unix based web hosting is most widely used compared to Windows based web hosting.

5. Scalability:

A web site is dynamic. Usually, a web site starts with a few pages of html and grows over a period of time to suit the customer’s requirements. It is preferable to design a web site keeping these requirements in mind. A web site designed for compatibility with a Linux/Unix based web server meets the scalability requirement easily without making any site wide design changes.

On the downside, Linux based web server is not fully compatible with Microsoft technologies. If you are using any specialized applications or VB for development of your web site, it is preferable to host with a Windows based web server.

After selecting the operating system (for example Linux), the booting process initially starts with the booting of Linux Kernel program.

A Linux Kernel program is the central component of a computer operating system. It requires the corresponding drivers to access the device on which the file system is based. To avoid any conflict due to all imaginable drivers in the kernel, it uses initial ramdisk (intrd).
The intrd is the temporary file system, which is mostly used for preparations before the real root file system can be mounted.

Problems might occur when intrd gets loaded before Linux Kernel program. In such situations, the hard drive volume becomes un-mountable and the data saved in the hard drive becomes inaccessible. In such situations, you need to recover your data from the latest backup. In case, no backup is available or the backup is corrupted, you need to use efficient Linux Data Recovery applications to recover your lost data files.

Consider a practical example, when you attempt to boot Linux operating system, you encounter the below error message:

Must load Linux kernel before initiate

The above error message occurs each time you try to boot the Linux operating system on your computer. After the above error message appears, the data saved in the Linux volume becomes inaccessible.

Cause:

The above error message mainly occurs when the intrd gets loaded before the Linux Kernel program.

Resolution:

To resolve the above error and access the data, you need to remove the intrd from your computer. However, if you still encounter an error, then only option left is to access the volume by reinstalling the Linux operating system. A clean reinstall of the operating system will erase all previously stored data in the hard drive. In such scenarios, you need to recover lost data by using effective Linux Data Recovery software. In an age, where the internet has become a basic requirement, there are a large number of operating systems which have their own web hosting programs. The necessity of a dedicated web hosting program cannot be undermined in any way. It not only helps in better management of websites but also, has features which make online operations more smooth sailing. Linux has its own dedicated server hosting platform just like other operating systems. This web hosting program can be employed with those systems run on Linux. Linux is an open source category of operating system which is UNIX based and is compatible with a wide variety of hardware support.

In simple terms, Linux dedicated server hosting means the construction of websites on the pattern of the Linux system. Open source technologies like MySQL are compatible with Linux dedicated server hosting. The chief advantages of the Linux dedicated server hosting are as follows:

Firstly, the costs involved in the Linux web hosting platform are not very high. This dedicated server requires low investment. The hosting price is slashed as Linux charges no fees for license. Secondly, the Linux dedicated web hosting offers support for the scripting languages like Perl and PHP. Linux also offers easy transition or conversion to windows operating system. Thirdly, Linux handles website load very well. Fourthly, databases like MySQL and mSQL are supported by Linux dedicated server system. The high range security and dependability, make the Linux dedicated server system a worthwhile investment. Once a Linux server is accessed, users generally do not switch over to some other operating system web host. Of late, there have been a huge number of web applications that have infiltrated the web world. These programs, are, at times not supported by Linux. In order to gain access to such features, some users are switching over to Windows server dedicated system. Let us take a quick look into the disadvantages of the Linux dedicated sever hosting platform.

The main problem of the Linux server to comply itself with Windows based application has been its biggest shortcoming. Modules or file extensions do not work with Linux at all. These are features typically restricted to Windows server hosting. This renders the Linux server hosting system to remain inoperative when a windows website is tried to be converted to the Linux module. Linux hosting has its own benefits but fail to match up with the easy to use interface and user friendly design of a windows server hosting platform.ASP scripts do not work on Linux server hosting systems.

Virtual machines (VM) have been gaining more and more traction in the enterprise and small-business worlds, with one question often being asked:

“How can virtual machines help my small business?”

It is an open-ended question, and one not easily answered. The specific application of virtual machines often depends on the needs of each particular business. In most cases, however, virtual machines are extraordinarily useful for making sure that the maximum amount of resources are being used in the most effective fashion. By segmenting one server into multiple VMs, an otherwise underutilized server can be parceled out into two or more servers specialized into certain applications, making maintenance and troubleshooting easier as well as using all of the resources of a server that might otherwise stay mostly dormant.

Building A Virtual Infrastructure
For example’s sake, let’s take a typical entry-level server for a small business:

Processor: Intel Xeon 2.4 GHz
RAM: 4GB
HD: 320GB single SATA
Two Ethernet NICs

Let’s also assume our sample small business has one of these server in-house, and they plan to use it to host their Exchange email, Active Directory, and file sharing. They are access Internet via a business cable line, and they have a small LAN serving a ten-person office. In a normal configuration, the server would host an instance of Windows Server 2008 with Exchange and Active Directory. This is a perfectly acceptable configuration, and most IT departments would stop there with their mission accomplished.

Enter the Hypervisor, a free software from VMWare that, for only 32MB of overhead RAM, allows an IT department to segment one server into multiple servers, each with their own form and function. In the example above, the single install of Windows Server 2008 is using very little of the system’s resources, especially for such a small office. There are a great many creative uses for the rest of the resources, including the creation of several small Linux VMs for specific functions like file sharing and virtual routing. Here’s an example of a simple starter virtual infrastructure:

VM1: Server 2008 + Exchange, 318GB hard drive space, 3.5GB RAM
VM2: IPCop, 256MB RAM, 2GB hard drive

In this tame example, we have added a very small virtual machine to the mix – IPCop, a powerful routing operating system that turns the VM into a commercial-level firewall and router, capable of running DNS, VPN, DHCP, and a handful of other services. IPCop offers a very powerful routing and firewall solution normally found only in high-level routing devices. The hundreds of dollars in savings that resulted from using this versatile utility is simply a single small application of VMs in a small business infrastructure. Instead of running a dedicated PC or device for your firewall, a small virtual machine takes care of the task by using server resources that would otherwise stay idle.

Some network administrators even advocate splitting the server into VMs for each type of function. A real-life example that I worked on involved a dedicated VM for file sharing, networking services (VPN, DNS, and DHCP), email, and other similar applications. The hidden benefit this type of fragmentation is that problems are much easier to isolate than on a single server running all services. Is your VPN not working because of that registry hack you used to fix the email server? Is your Active Directory service fouling up because of the faulty file sharing? The segmented VMs allow for precise identification of problems, and fewer variables in determining the cause of the problem.

Pitfalls of Virtual Machines
The most obvious flaws of virtual machines are that they a) create massive dependence on one single hardware machine, and b) they actually increase resource usage. Let’s address each:

While it is true that the VMs all depend on one server, the recovery time with proper backups should be minimal. Since each VM can be saved as an image, recovery only involves re-installing the image and reloading the virtual machines on the physical server. While a lengthy process, it is comparable to the recovery process of a regular, Windows Server 2008 workstation.

The increased resource usage is a symptom of improper monitoring. If one of the VMs is starving for resources, it’s easy enough to re-allocate RAM to it from another, and with proper monitoring and care you can have very minimal waste of resources on an virtual server. A properly mapped out and configured hypervisor will not misuse resources, and in fact will used them more effectively than a dedicated machine.

In the end, then, virtual machines are a great way to wring out a little more versatility from a server. Even if the machine is just a hypervisor running one VM, the ability to expand on demand and segment your infrastructure virtually is an invaluable tool that can turn an underutilized server into a service powerhouse.

Are you unable to boot your Linux computer? This is due to problems with Linux file system. In such cases, operating system can not get required information to boot and thus you face odd behavior. This behavior renders your entire system inaccessible and unusable. In such circumstances, you may experience horrifying situations of data loss. Data loss is a very critical situation that creates need of Data Recovery Linux.

When you try to start your Linux computer, you may come across any of the below symptoms:

• You encounter “Error 16: Inconsistent filesystem structure” error message while booting your computer. The system loops round and attempts to boot the system again, with the same error message.

• When you select previous version of kernel at boot menu, the system starts booting, but runs “Checking filesystems” and does not give any error. However, when it goes to /boot directory, you get “Error reading block 49404 (Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read) while doing inode scan.” error message.

• You can get into the recovery mode, but can not run system maintenance tool.

• When you run fsck utility from maintenance prompt, you encounter “short read” error.

If any of the above behaviors occur, you can not boot your system and it becomes inaccessible. In order to get your precious data recovered, Linux Recovery is required.

Cause

The above problem is caused by the Linux file system code for denoting internal error, which is returned by sanity checks of file system structure on hard drive not coping up with what is anticipates. It is generally resulted by a damaged file system or due to bugs in code handling in GRUB boot loader.

Resolution

File system corruption and boot errors call for hard drive formatting and operating system reinstallation. This replaces all the damaged system files and file system. However, it also removes all the data from hard drive and causes severe data loss.

In such events, Linux Data Recovery software come to your rescue. The applications are specifically designed to extensively scan the affected Linux hard drive and retrieve lost data. You need not have sound technical knowledge to perform Linux Recovery using these tools as they have interactive user interface.

Stellar Phoenix Linux Data Recovery software successfully recover lost, deleted, or inaccessible data from Linux hard drive. It supports recovery from Ext4, Ext3, Ext2, FAT12, FAT16, and FAT32 file system volumes. The software works well with all major versions of Linux operating system, such as Ubuntu, Fedora, SUSE, Debian, and Mandriva.

A standard procedure, long-term ECG monitoring of cardiac patients is currently the best way to reduce the number of heart failures. Dry and washable tex-tile electrodes embedded in comfortable garment or in a wearable chest belt have been proven very effective for a long-term ECG monitoring in comparison to the conven-tional Ag/AgCl electrodes. Hereby, we present a wearable ECG chest belt, which contains stitched textile electrodes for ECG detection and analog preprocessing circuits em-bedded in tiny cell-phone plugs. With them we achieve on-site ECG processing, display and transmission using a dual-core OMAP3-based embedded system. Our experiments have shown promising results of textile electrodes along with our hardware and embedded system in conveying a better ECG signal quality having a clinical significance and hence enabled long-term ECG recording in a daily life.

MATERIALS & METHODS: Active Belt & Textile ElectrodesA stretchable and breathable chest belt (34.5cm x 84.5cm) was fabricated from neoprene material (SEDO Chemicals Neoprene GmbH, Germany) with velcro on the closing ends. Three Textile electrodes, two of them elliptical (⋯6.5cm and ⋮3.5cm) for ECG were stitched on two sides of the torso on the belt and a circular electrode for ground (Ø2.5cm) next to the navel. The washable textile electrodes (TITV Greiz, Germany) are made of polyamide threads (ELITEXR) coated with pure silver with a thickness of 1-2μm and a resistivity of 20Ω/m. Each thread can be stretched up to 7% of the original length without compromising the conductivity.

ECG Analog Circuits in Cell-phone Plugs: The raw ECG signal detected by the textile electrodes on the body is fed to the amplifier plug, which contains the biopotential amplifier array RHA1016 (Intan Technolo-gies… ) with few additional components. The low-power RHA1016 contains 16 differential amplifiers (gain = 200), tus in principle suited for multichannel ECG.Two ex-ternal resistors R1 and R2 are board-mounted to set the cut-off frequency of 100Hz for a built-in programmable 3rd order butterworth low pass filter. The amplifier’s output connects to the ADC plug, which contains a single channel ADC (ADS1271, Texas Instru-ments Inc., USA) with a data rate up to 105kSps following an instrumentation amplifier (IA) with a gain of 20.

Dual-core OMAP3-based Embedded System: OMAP3530 (OMAP3) (Texas Instruments Inc., USA) found in new generation smart-phones is a dual-core (ARM+DSP) application processor, which is an ARM-based SoC with laptop-like performance. The OMAP3 has the following prominent features [10] • 720 MHz ARM Cortex-A8 core provides 1400 Dhrys-tone million instructions per second (MIPS) and runs fully-featured operating systems e.g., embedded Linux, Android, WindowsCE. • 520 MHz C64x+™ DSP furnishes excellent signal processing and computing. • Display subsystem provides the advanced display. • Comprehensive power and clock-management scheme enable high-performance and low-power.

CONCLUSIONS: We have presented a successful implementation of a weara-ble single channel ECG Active Belt for a long-term ECG recording with the potential of up to 16 channels. Initially, the textile electrode was compared with the conventional electrode in terms of their ability to perform long-term re-cording. The textile electrode has shown a promising out-come by exhibiting low skin-electrode impedance and a high SNR for long-term recording. We have mounted ana-log processing hardware in tiny cell-phone connectors, which are detachable and mounted in the vicinity to the ECG detection site. We have achieved ECG processing, and display on the Active belt utilizing the computing power of the dual-core processor OMAP3. The ECG data transmis-sion from the Active Belt to a remote computer visa WLAN is currently under development. Thus, the Active Belt brings a long-term ECG recording in patient’s daily life and helps in the future by on-site analysis and/or remote experts to diagnose cardiovascular problems earlier.

Linux is an operating system, like Microsoft Windows, MacOS, or Unix. It was created as a hobby by Linus Torvalds, a student at the University of Helsinki in Finland. What most people don’t know about Linux is that its source code is available to anyone. The Linux source code is called the kernel and it is the base of the Linux operating system. Because the source code or kernel is free, it has enabled hundreds of companies and individuals to release their own operating systems based on the Linux system. These operating systems or formats are often referred to as Linux distributions.

Each distribution has its own set of features and functionality that makes it unique. While Linux is generally considered free-ware and people associate that with no cost, that is not always the case. Some distributions are available for download for free and others are available on CD or floppy disk and have a small charge associated with them.

Because if the adaptability of Linux it has been embraced and supported by a number of operating systems and software programs. For example, IBM, Hewlett-Packard and other giants of the computing world have embraced Linux and support its ongoing development and openoffice.org and Mozilla run on Linux. US retailing giant Wal-Mart began selling Linux systems back in 2002 – if Wal-Mart isn’t mainstream, nothing is.

What are the benefits of Linux?

Many people fear that Linux is going to be difficult to work with or that it will be difficult to find software that will run on Linux however Linux is a very standard operating system, compatible with just about any software you need.

Beyond being a standard operating system, Linux supports open source software which makes it a very economical operating system, especially if you program your own software. It offers many free or low cost applications which include, basic desktop applications like web browsers, email programs, word processing programs, spreadsheets, graphics programs, and file managers.

Linux can easily operate as a central server for your business. With Linux, you can serve your own web pages up for public consumption and handle your own email.

Linux doesn’t require top of the line hardware though many recommend you have at least 256 MB of RAM and at least 4 GB of space in your hard drive.

Linux is considered to be extremely stable and doesn’t need to be rebooted periodically to maintain performance levels. Think about the last time you sat at your computer and it froze. Not fun, right? That doesn’t happen with Linux if it is configured correctly.

Linux isn’t going to be replaced anytime soon and when bugs are found in the system, a developer are quickly on the job and often times a solution is offered within a matter of hours, not months or years like many other operating systems.

Linux is also fast and can handle a number of tasks at the same time.

Linux also claims to be one of the most secure operating systems isn’t plagued with the viruses that other operating systems generally deal with.

Linux is free from having to upgrade it or deal with proprietary file formats and licensing fees. You don’t have to register it due to its open source format.

You can have both Linux and windows on your computer. (You’ll have to partition them on your hard drive and you can only boot them one at a time.)

Drawbacks of Linux

There is no 1800 customer service number to call. However, most distributions offer a support number or email to call if you find a bug. They also generally come with installation instructions.

You cannot run applications for MS windows on Linux. However, there are Linux emulators or applications that enable you to run some windows applications on your Linux system. They operate like a translator. Some of these ‘translation or emulator’ products are free and others are available for a price.

Linux is not able to run some advanced financial applications or reproduce some proprietary multimedia formats.

Tips and Advice:

Choose a popular distribution has a large developer community. A large developer community means that you’ll find the programs that you need easily and you will be able to install them with the same ease. The more well-known distributions have prepared programs in ‘packages’ that are easy to install. On top of this, there are tools designed especially for a particular distribution to manage these packages to make sure that programs run correctly right away. The website Distrowatch.com maintains a comprehensive list of the most popular distributions.

Get the latest version of your chosen distribution. The newer the Linux distribution version, the better the hardware support. The number of glitches you’ll get in the installation process decreases with the newness of the version of Linux you choose.

Consider paying for your Linux distribution. It is true that you can get a full-featured Linux operating system free of charge by downloading it from any number of sources. This is an excellent alternative to an operating system like Windows, which either comes pre-loaded with a newly purchased computer (which gets figured into the cost), is bought separately or copied ‘illegally’. In most people’s experience, the popular Linux distributions are easy to install. However, if you do run into some glitch (normally hardware related), you may have a frustrating experience. Although there are a number of excellent Linux support forums out there, personalized advice on your particular problem may be hard to find.

Use an appropriate computer. if you want to use Linux to do the same things that you would with Windows XP or Mac OS X, then you’ll need the newest computer you can get your hands on. Avoiding ‘elite’ video cards and new, exotic hardware will also work in your favor because you won’t have to deal with hardware support which may be inferior to hardware support from other operating systems.

Bottom Line:

Linux is a fantastic and powerful operating system that can handle most or all of your operating needs. It is secure, fast, reliable, and generally extremely cost effective. When purchased or obtained through a reliable distributor and installed and configured correctly there are virtually no drawbacks to running Linux. Additionally, you don’t have to give up your windows if you don’t want to.
